Early Vote Block Party

  • Marilyn J. Praisner Library 14910 Old Columbia Pike Burtonsville, MD, 20866 United States (map)

Come vote and have fun at an early voting block party 12-3pm on October 29th at the Marilyn Praisner Library. The library is next door to the Marilyn Praisner Recreation Center, which is one of the Early Voting Centers in Montgomery County. So bring the family for a little food, fun, and music. And while you’re there, walk next door and cast your ballot.

Fun for the Whole Family

There will be a bounce house and face painting for the kids. A DJ will play music and engage event attendees in a few impromptu games. In addition, there will be food and door prizes. Electioneering won't be allowed during this nonpartisan event but frequently event attendees will be encouraged to go next door and vote for the candidates of their choice.

Increasing Turnout for Early Voting

Through this event, we hope to increase the turn-out for early voting, especially among infrequent voters in the Eastern part of Montgomery County. Reid Temple AME Church's Commission on Social Action, the Montgomery County Public Libraries, and Our Voices Matter are co-sponsors of this nonpartisan event.

Additional Cosponsors Welcome

Contact us if your organization would like to be a cosponsor of the Early Voting Block Party. As a cosponsor you’ll agree to promote the event to your friends and followers through your various digital channels. In exchange, we’ll promote your cosponsorship to event attendees and in our pre- and post-event communications.

Event Volunteers Needed

Please attend the Early Vote Block Party — even better, volunteer to help make it a success. Check out this blogpost, which outlines the volunteer roles we’re looking to fill. And while you’re there sign up to help out. This is a great volunteer opportunity, so come out and get involved!
