In April of every year in honor of National Minority Health Month, the African American Health Program (AAHP) and many of its partner organizations, as well as, individuals join forces to host AAHP Community Day in order to highlight the ongoing effort to eliminate health disparities and to increase the number of Blacks in Montgomery County who are healthy at every stage of their life.
While focused on health prevention strategies, AAHP Community Day is a "community" event and also incorporates fun and exciting activities. It’s FREE and open to all ages, young and old (men, women, youth, children, and families). During AAHP Community Day, attendees can participate in:
- Free onsite health screenings (blood pressure, HIV testing and counseling, vision, diabetes, BMI, waist circumference, health assessment, prostate, etc.)
- Live cooking demonstrations
- Line Dancing
- Energizing group fitness activities (i.e., Zumba, aerobics, etc.)
- Activities for children and youth.
- FUN! FUN! FUN!
