Community Meeting on Police Body-Worn Camera Policy

The Gaithersburg Police Department will begin outfitting uniformed operational officers with body-worn cameras starting with a phased approach in late 2017. The public will have an opportunity to comment on the draft policy at a community information event on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue.

The topics to be discussed at the July 17 meeting include the purpose of the program, review and timeline of deployment, policy discussion and impact on the public, demonstration of body-worn cameras and video presentation, and a question and answer period.
